George Delaney 1927-2012
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the sudden and unexpected passing of George Delaney on February 22. He was a life-long fighter and fierce defender of Democratic principles and ideals every day of his life.
He was a mentor, friend and father figure to so many of us – a man with wisdom, passion and experience that is seldom seen and will be forever missed.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, February 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 27 at St. Patrick’s Church, Route 22, Bedford Village, NY.
Burial will follow at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery, Banksville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lions Club of Bedford Hills, NY, PO Box 156, Bedford Hills, NY 10507

The Bedford Democratic Committee is a dynamic group of individuals from a cross section of our community who work together to promote Democratic principles for everyone. We believe that Government cannot and should not try to solve all of society’s ills, but it has an active role to play in allowing fairness, equal opportunity and the occasional support and help we all need to allow everyone a chance to live their American dream.
If there is one thing we all know just from looking at events throughout the globe it is that democracy is not free — it requires real courage, action, commitment and hard work to be nurtured and protected.
Complacency is the death of democracy and involvement is its life’s blood. We all share the belief that an informed, involved and participatory democracy is the strongest and most capable of truly working to improve our community, our state, our nation and our world.
